Technology Sourcing & Research

Starting a deep-tech company requires efforts spent to understand & develop the technology, therefore our process for tech sourcing with our partners begins 6 months in advance where we identify the technologies from research institutes. We help identify the potential application areas which gives us sufficient time to find the right talent to build the right companies during the venture building stage!

Hackathon

We’ve re-engineered hackathons! Unlike the traditional approach, we provide readily sourced technologies from our partners. You’ll get a chance to pair up with 2-3 team members & spend time working together with our team & researchers to figure out where the technology can be applied to solve real societal problems.

Criteria

  • Singapore Citizen / Permanent Resident / Foreigners with existing work passes are welcome to apply
  • Ability to work out of Singapore
  • Ability to commit 10-20 hours a week during phases 1 and 2 of the program and full-time during phase 3

Having gone through our rigorous assessment process, the following next-gen technologies are ready to be commercialised by our venture teams. More technologies are in the due diligence pipeline, so be sure to follow SDTA’s social channels to be the first to know.

1. Ion-Selective Membrane (ISM)

This novel single-component technology produces robust ion-selective membranes that are more durable, enabling long-term continuous usage and consistent performance of the sensors without sacrificing performance. The technology and process allow for the membranes to be fabricated into solid-state sensors for easy integration.

2. Wireless Powered IOT

Wirelessly powered IoT technology has been developed to eliminate the need for battery replacement and reduce IoT operational costs. The patented antenna solution for the energy harvesting interface has higher sensitivity compared to commercially available solutions. The end-to-end wirelessly powered IoT solution leveraged hardware and firmware co-optimization to achieve superior power efficiency for a long operational lifetime.

3. AI SOC

A full system (from algorithms to nanotechnology devices) approach to enable deep learning at very low-power embedded domains with characteristics such as advanced algorithmic transformation, efficient hardware architecture design, new nanotechnology devices for on-chip new memories, and more.

4. Heavy Metal Ion Sensor

A heavy metal ion detection system consisting of (1) an ultrasonic-assisted tumbler (UAT) for quick leaching of heavy metal ions from solid samples and (2) a 16-channel electrochemical heavy metal ion analyzer with build-in detection recipes and data process algorithms for on-site rapid heavy metal detection.
